ABOUT US
Ricardo Sandoval
Ricardo is a native Clevelander from a large Filipino and Irish American family. He has spent nearly his entire life working in restaurants with much of his early experience in Italian fine dining. After graduating from St. Edward High School, he briefly explored a degree an engineering from Ohio State University. His passion for food and fire could not keep him away from the kitchen. The bohemian spirit and allure of Tremont led him to open Fat Cats in 1997. He is known throughout the city for his fusion cuisine, pioneering farm-to-table and zealous hospitality. In addition to making the neighborhood a better place, he enjoys golf, books, baseball cards and riding his bike.

We work with local farmers to create seasonal menus and daily specials based on the availability of regional produce.
Sustainability.
We are committed to sustainability initiatives including composting for our own garden cultivated on site.
Artists.
We support local artists and feature works for sale in the restaurant. The majority of our staff comes from creative backgrounds.
